Justin and Julie-Ann, hopelessly mismatched in love, are about to introduce their respective parents to each other over dinner – Justin’s upper-crust alcoholic mother from Surrey and Julie-Ann’s bigoted Yorkshire father and prim mother. Into this doomed scenario drops, literally, via the balcony upstairs and the river, Paige Petite, a former lap-dancer with suicidal tendencies and her thick, gun-toting minder who is employed by her violent boyfriend …

Sitting PrettyTickets for our forthcoming play Sitting Pretty – Tuesday 25 March – Sat 28 March 7.30pm 2015 are on sale from 9 March 2015.

“a full-bodied play that warms the heart and tickles the soul”

Unmarried sisters share a London flat. Nina is brisk, dynamic and gainfully employed. Nancy is plump, self-conscious and redundant. Urged by Nina to find a hobby, Nancy unwittingly takes a job as a model for a group of eccentric life drawing students and their philandering teacher ….
A bittersweet play that unfolds with beautifully humorous twists and turns. This play contains some adult language and nudity.

MDG News

June 18th, 2013

“Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them”  Twelfth Night  Act 2 scene 5

Sheila writes: “Thanks for electing me as Chairman last week.  I can’t promise to work miracles only to do my best.”

A quick reminder that Tuesday, 18 June we will be auditioning for BOLT FROM THE BLUE which I hope will be an enjoyable play to take part in.  It’s different, quirky and should be altogether lots of fun.

On TUESDAY 25th there won’t be a general meeting as we will be holding our first COMMITTEE MEETING of this season.  If you have anything you would like the new committee to discuss please let

me know tonight or by e mail tomorrow latest.

TUESDAY 2nd July – Peter C and Sue Hardman will be holding a rehearsal for the dances that will be presented at the Crow Fair.  Please contact Peter direct for details about this.

TUESDAY 9th July – Please do come along to a general meeting of ALL members.  I would like to discuss the future of the drama group and to get everyone’s opinion as to how we should proceed.

Also we need to discuss several important ideas and suggestions that have been put forward about collaborating with other groups.

Reminders:   Please let Derek Morris know if you would like to visit Media City in Salford Quays on Thursday,  17 Sept.  Signing up is now urgent as places are limited.

Please let Sue or Lynn have your prizes for their Crow Fair Stall (366 needed!).

2013/14 Season Update

April 30th, 2013

You may know by now that a small sub-committee has, over the last couple of months, spent many hours pouring over play scripts trying to find suitable plays for our 13/14 season.

A short list has now been picked and it looks likely that Sheila Hetherington will be directing the first play in the autumn.

Please help me to chose the most suitable play by letting me know NOW whether you think you will be available to play a part or not.

It would also be helpful to know what size part you would consider.  Please do reply by Tuesday 23rd April latest so that I can make a considered decision to the committee when we next meet on 1 May.

Many thanks.
